Abstract

The article presents the author's insights on supermarket loyalty programs. It says that a report on loyalty cards exposes that the information obtained from the customers through the loyalty programs help fortify the relationship between the customers and the retail chain and deter the shoppers to buy elsewhere. It states that loyalty program data gives the companies ideas on how to improve marketing. It adds that loyalty programs will cost consumers if they change their shopping behaviour.
