Abstract
- The article presents an interview with Michael O. Rabin, the 1976 co-winner of the Association for Computing Machinery's A. M. Turing Award. Topics discussed include his interest in mathematics as a high school student in Israel, a paper he co-wrote on automata theory during an internship with International Business Machines, another paper he produced on the degree of difficulty in computable functions, research he has performed on randomization, and the application of that research to cryptography.
