Abstract
- The article discusses rules issued by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that could force money-market funds to reduce the interest they pay to investors. Funds will be required to hold a greater fraction of liquid, low-risk assets than previously. The SEC hopes to avoid a situation similar to a 2008 crisis that struck the Reserve Primary Fund.
