Abstract
- The article presents two case studies related to diseases caused by extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing bacteria. The first case centers on the case of a baby boy with grade II vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) where the catheter urinary culture showed ESBL-producing Klebsiella oxytoca. The second study focuses on the case of a 7-month-old baby boy admitted due to urinary track infecstion (UTI) where ESBL-producing E. coli was found in the catheter urine culture.
