Investigation of thermal diffusivity of nano-structured Al[sub 2]O[sub 3] ceramics by using mirage effect.

We investigate the influence of the grain size on the thermal diffusivity of pure Al[sub 2]O[sub 3] ceramics by using mirage effect. Results show that the value of thermal diffusivity decreases with increasing grain size, when the grain size of the sample is smaller than 200 nm, and the value of that increases with increasing grain size when the grain size is larger than 200 nm.
