Science and gender.

The author reflects on the prevalent gender stereotyping which prevents women from attaining full recognition of their scientific achievements and research careers. The author muses on the problems faced by women in science which have become complex and deeply rooted in the structure of our society. The author believes that women scientists have slower rates of promotions and less recognition through awards and departmental chairs despite their postdoctoral levels and achievements.
