Abstract

The article discusses the findings of a study on the incidence of suicidal acts with casualties reported in the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital in Imphal, India. It was noted that the highest rate of suicidal method was poisoning, followed by hanging. It states the potential reasons why cases of attempted suicide are predominant in women including the use of less fatal approach to suicide and social bonds. The research revealed that summer had the greatest number of incidences of suicidal acts reported.
