Bush, overseas organizations were prohibited from receiving U.S. family planning assistance if they used funds to provide abortion information or services. According to the author safe-sex programs in regions like Tanzania and Kenya became virtually nonexistent resulting in increased numbers unwanted children, unsafe abortions and rate of HIV infection.
