Abstract

The article presents a literature review on the most common dermatoses and infectious diseases transmitted through mites which affect returning travelers. It is stated that mites are tissue-juice feeders and transmit infectious microbial diseases such as rickettsial pox and scrub typhus. It details the prevention, clinical manifestations and management of mite-transmitted dermatoses and infectious diseases. It also mentions the geographic distribution and maintenance of common mite species.
