Proximity effect in TES structures.

We discuss the role of proximization in TES structures. In addition to the critical temperature we calculate and discuss spectral and thermodynamic properties of proximized bi-layers, concentrating on spatial profiles of densities of states, and their transformation close to the critical temperature. We calculate the heat capacity of the bi-layer, and show that for typical Ti/Au and Mo/Au TESs it differs significantly from the classical result for a BCS superconductor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
