Abstract

A pressure-resisting cell system has been developed for high-pressure high-resolution nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements up to a maximum pressure of 600 MPa. This cell system is capable of performing high-pressure experiments with any standard spectrometer, including modern high field NMR machines. A full description of the high-pressure NMR assembly mounted on a 750 MHz spectrometer is presented along with a detailed explanation of the procedure for preparing the pressure-resisting quartz and glass cells. © 2001 American Institute of Physics.
