Single-path design simplifies STED microscopy.

The article reports on the development of researchers on isotopic stimulated-emission-depletion (isoSTED) microscopy system that uses optical path to simplify the microscope's optical design in Germany. It notes that the focal-point size in STED microscopy is reduced resulting in improved imaging solution. It states that researchers devised a modified STED microscope to eliminate one beam path and align the optical design. Moreover, STED setup was able to resolve individual microtubules.
