Multi-disciplinary design optimization methods of sandwich structures have not been clearly established yet. in this paper, it is presented a method that uses a fuzzy control loop system to fit the individual components properties of a sandwich assembly to its overall properties or functional capabilities. The method may be useful in the primary stage of a sandwich panel design in order to reduce time and cost, providing useful information for further analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
