Abstract

The article presents the author's insights on her use of a different approach to trigger student imagination and incorporate fun with effective learning. She explores the innovative and interdisciplinary unit where the students were immersed in the Civil War history and were made to compose and exchange personal letters in the shoes of 19th century characters. She notes how history and imagination can fuel real-life learning through activities that are both fun and knowledge-cultivating.
