Abstract
- The article offers poetry criticism of the poem "Son de negros en Cuba" by Federico García Lorca. The poet memorializes his only visit to Cuba while promising a future pilmigrage to the city of Santiago de Cuba in the poem, according to the author. Sociologist Fernando Ortiz’s theory of transculturation is addressed, and the different meanings behind several elements are discussed including García Lorca's integration of the Afro-Cuban cultural expression and dance the ''son.''
