Abstract

The article explains how E.On Engineering, the specialist testing team of power and gas company E.On, makes sure that its fleet of power stations burning biomass keep their emissions to a minimum and comply with the terms of the Waste Incineration Directive and the Large Combustion Plant Directive of Great Britain. The company uses infra-red absorption equipment and Fourier Transform Infra-red Spectroscopy to monitor and analyze gases. Other equipment used are paramagnetic detectors, chemiluminescence analyzers, impingers and bubble tubes. INSET: Mediterranean diet for power plant.
