Abstract
- The article explains how E.On Engineering, the specialist testing team of power and gas company E.On, makes sure that its fleet of power stations burning biomass keep their emissions to a minimum and comply with the terms of the Waste Incineration Directive and the Large Combustion Plant Directive of Great Britain. The company uses infra-red absorption equipment and Fourier Transform Infra-red Spectroscopy to monitor and analyze gases. Other equipment used are paramagnetic detectors, chemiluminescence analyzers, impingers and bubble tubes. INSET: Mediterranean diet for power plant.
