There Is a Lot More to Training Than Training.

The article discusses factors which can have a significant impact on the success of corporate training initiatives, which are not commonly conceptualized as being part of the training process. Seven factors which are essential components of mental readiness for training are delineated. These include expectations, resources, incentives and motivation. A model of successful training methodology is presented, and the importance of considering cost-effectiveness and return on investment from a training standpoint is emphasized.
