Abstract

The article offers information on a study which investigated the association between child disability screening, nutrition and early learning in countries with low and middle incomes. The researchers utilized the Ten Questions screen for disability in the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) program of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF). Study variables analyzed included sociodemographic, nutritional, early-learning and schooling. Findings of the study inferred the need for improved world capacity to evaluate and offer services for children at risk of disability, and common methodology to address the role of nutritional deficiencies and limited access to learning opportunities.
