The author investigates Swiss converts to Islam, speculating about their future among Muslims in Switzerland, in particular among militant Muslims. The author attempts, first, to establish a typology of the paths of conversion to Islam; and, second, to assess the field of action in which converts operate. While Swiss converts actively promote the visibility of Islam and are happy to assume the role of spokespeople for the "Muslim community", the author questions their ability to supplant those born into the faith in the management of Islam and of its public image.
