Abstract

The author reflects on the growth and transformation in the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR). He notes that despite the challenges faced by APLAR in combating Rheumatology subspecialists shortage, APLAR has remained successful in creating APLAR congress to educate about proper prevention and control of rheumatic disease in developing countries across the world. He believes that because of APLAR's rheumatism campaign, the works of rheumatologists are being recognized.
