Abstract
- The article examines the marketing of Hellmann's brand mayonnaise by its parent company Unilever. Sales of mayonnaise have increased during the recession as more sandwiches are being included in brown-bag lunches. Unilever is attempting to reposition mayonnaise as not merely a condiment, but as an essential ingredient in recipes in many forms of cookery, even baking.
