Abstract
- The article discusses an AIDS vaccine research study that showed positive results for participants in Thailand and follow-up research on the nature of the immune response attributable to the vaccine. Gary Nable, who directs the Vaccine Research Center at the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), is cited regarding planned research that will evaluate the results of the vaccine-research project. Actual exposure to HIV among vaccine trial participants is said to be an important element of determinations regarding cause and effect.
