Abstract
- The article features Betsy Bloomingdale and her haute couture. Her haute couture interest started with a Balmain dress in 1961. After meeting the managing director of Dior in Paris, France, designers had started sending sketches to Bloomingdale so she could shop home. It recalls that Bloomingdale was close to Marc Bohan, who replaced Yves St. Laurent as the designer of Dior in 1958. Details on her exhibition of haute couture at the Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, California from October 21 to December 31, 2009 are given.
