Abstract

Hakkâri was one of the underdeveloped town of Eastern Anatolia in the second half of the XIX century. The 93 War had spoiled social, financial, political circumstance of the town more and more.Furthermore, the rebellion of Sheikh Ubeydullah that was more effective in wider area and constitution of Hamidiye Alayları have caused fondamental problems in this region. The population lived in Hakkâri were different as ethnical and religious. Although it hasnt occurred any serious ethnical and religious conflict until the end of the century, it has been seen the spoiling of peaceful atmosphere during 93 War, especially after the War. In this article it has been tried to find out the circumstance of the population lived under Hakkari Starboard and the factors that were effective on the population in the second half of 19th century.
