Abstract
- The article reports on the increase in profit posted by Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. by 29% in India for the second quarter of 2009. The increase is attributed to the improvement of business condition and cost control. Profit from July to September rose from 12.62 billion rupees in the same period of 2008 to 16.24 billion rupees. Revenue surged by 6.9% to 74.35 billion rupees despite the decline in number of clients from 933 to 896. Another software exporter, Infosys Technologies, had previously posted a 7.5% increase in its profit.
