Abstract

The article discusses the Buddhism in Tibet, China. It offers an overview of the history of Tibetan Buddhism which was introduced in the 8th century and expanded in 760 Common Era with two Tantric masters, Shantarakshita and Padmasambhava. It explores the four main orders of Buddhism that were developed in the region such as Nyingma, Sakya, Kagyu and Gelug. Buddhist temples are also cited including the Ramoche Temple, Jokhang Temple, and Pabongka Monastery.
