Abstract

The article presents a study on the effect of direct current (DC) electrical stimulation in patients older than 60 years old on clinical outcome after lumbar spinal fusion. The study observed 107 patients who undergo clinical trial for the uninstrumented posterolateral lumbar spinal fusion. It cites an increase in complication after spinal fusion surgery was undertaken in older patients. Morever, DC-simulated patients are likely to have good results compared to patients without DC simulation.
