Abstract

The objective of the ‘transportation problem’ is to minimize the cost of satisfying customer product requirements without exceeding supplier capacities. This paper examines the transportation problem with the purpose of ascribing graphical meaning to the solution. The paper summarizes prior results as well as provides new results relative to supplier lattice structures and nonlinear costs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
