Abstract

The article discusses research on melanocyte precursors and the role of Kit signaling in their development. It references a study by H. Aoki and collaborators published in an issue of the journal "Development 136." Researchers used transgenic mice expressing ET3 (endothelin 3), HGF (hepatocyte growth factor) and Kitl driven by the human keratin 14 (hk14) gene promoter, among others to explore the different characteristics among the epidermal and dermal populations among the classical melanocytes.
