Ban The Bulb? Not A Bright Idea.

In this article the author argues against the proposal to ban or replace incandescent lighting in Europe and the U.S. It is suggested that consumers can and often do undervalue energy efficiency because electricity prices do not fully reflect environmental costs. The disadvantages of compact fluorescent lamps are also cited, including the fact that they are slow to reach full brightness and their reliability is not certain.
