- The article discusses prospects for shares of U.S. bank stocks. Since early March of 2009 an index of bank stocks has risen over 150%. However, influential analyst Meredith Whitney now considers bank shares to be fairly priced. Losses on credit cards and commercial real-estate loans could weigh on the shares of small and regional U.S. banks.
