Mandates, Legal Status and Cooperation Humanitarian Action from the Perspective of the European Union.

A conference paper about the major means of the European Union (EU) in addressing humanitarian crisis is presented. The three main tools of the European Union's humanitarian assistance are discussed. Also described are the conflict prevention and crisis management tasks of EU as defined in the EU Treaties. Mentioned, as well, are the four ongoing EU crisis management operations.
