Abstract

The article presents the study that investigates on the high resolution transmission events and genome sequence data evidence of the 2001 foot and mouth (FMD) epidemic disease in Great Britain. The study was administered by collecting full genome sequences of FMD virus (FMDV) wherein its sequence analysis and nucleotide substitution was evaluated. The study concludes that full genome sequencing serve as a powerful tool in assessing the transmission route and epidemiology of FMDV.
