The financing of research libraries in the context of the organisations of the Estonian public sector.

The article analyzes the funding allocation and financial management of research libraries in public sector organisations in Estonia. Based on the empirical study of income and expenditures of four academic libraries, the proportion of targeted income and financing from economic activities is relatively marginal. It reveals that the National Library of Estonia is forced to reduce its opening times and employees due to budget cut in 2008.
