Abstract
- The article reports on the result of the study concerning the risk of deep venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism (DVT/PE) for patients treated with tamoxifen therapy. The study includes women ages 45 to 69 years diagnosed with international Union Against Cancer (UICC) stage I or II estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer between 1990 to 2004. The study shows that the five year risk of DVT/PE for women receiving tamoxifen was 1.2 percent while 0.50 percent for women not receiving tamoxifen.
