Abstract

The article presents the most clinically effective new laryngoscopic design of the last few years, the McCoy laryngoscope. A number of recent advances in new airway devices are available and the most investigated, because of its certain advantages, includes the Combitube and the intubating laryngeal mask airway (ILMA). It also states that the cuffed oropharyngeal airway (COPA), because of its simple design, may have a new role in airway management when performed by non-anaesthetists.
