Guest Editorial.

Information about the 8th International Conference on Stochastic Networks held at Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris, France in June 23-28, 2008 is presented. Topics during the conference include the new stochastic network model structures and new mathematical problems motivated by contemporary developments in wireless networks, Internet, biology, and manufacturing. The conference featured several speakers including D. Aldous, T. Dieker, and S. Foss.
