Abstract
- The article features Powell Gardens in Kansas City, Missouri. Horticulturist Alan Branhagen of Powell Gardens regarded the climate of the city as one of the extremes. It also notes that the city gets around 35 inches of rain annually while its clay soil is said to be is rich in minerals. Meanwhile, it mentions several crops that are a favorite among gardeners at Powell Gardens including Northstar pie cherry, Apache blackberry, and Waltham butternut squash.
