Abstract

The article focuses on social networks and its potential role in advocating a change in oral care delivery. It describes social networks as online communities which serve as new ways for people to communicate and share information. Examples of them are Facebook, Twitter and Multiply. It notes the move of dental manufacturers, associations and companies in establishing their social networks to engage clinicians and strengthen brand loyalty. For the part of clinicians, social networks serve as a way for them to build patient interaction and business.
