Abstract

The article offers information on the epidemiology and management of hymenopteran stings. It discusses the global occurrence of hymenopteran-inflicted injuries, particularly to travelers, causing allergic reactions through the stings of insect families including vespids, apids, and formicids. It discusses the ways in dealing of allergic reactions to hymenopteran stings including the use of oral pharmacologic therapy, oxygen and intravenous fluid therapy, and venom allergen immunotherapy (VIT).
