Abstract

Tracheal bronchus is a congenital anomaly in which the right upper lobe bronchus originates from the lateral wall of the trachea. During conventional endotracheal intubation, the distal side of tracheal tube can obstruct the congenital bronchus. This may lead to right upper lobe atelectasis and/or hypoxemia. Tracheal bronchus has a prevalence of 0.4 % in bronchographic and bronchoscopic studies. We would like to share our one lung isolation experience in a patient which right lung couldn't be isolated with bronchial blocker (Cook® Cohen Tip) because of tracheal bronchus.
