Determination of Trace Cantharidin in Plasma and Pharmacokinetic Study in Beagle Dogs Using Gas Chromatography—Mass Spectrometry.

The article presents a pharmacokinetic study on the determination of plasma concentration of cantharidin (CA) after a clinic dose in beagle dogs with the use of mass spectrometry and gas chromatography. It states that cantharidin was used in China as a cancer prevention drug wherein clinicians proved it therapeutic efficacy. Moreover, it found out that hydrochloric acid precipitation is effective for identifying the level of cantharidin plasma concentration.
