Abstract

The article reports that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, a proposed legislation to stop dangerous toys from arriving on store shelves and in the hands of young children may not take effect before the Christmas season in Canada in 2009. It mentions although it has reached the Senate, a possible election could delay it from receiving royal assent for several months. It states that if it will become law, a company that has a problem with its toy will be required to inform Health Canada.
