Abstract
- The article discusses the development of a new synthesis that increases the performance of MFI, a zeolite. Researchers have done it through reducing the thickness of the zeolite crystal, thereby decreasing the lengths of the diffusion paths. They used a surfactant containing a quaternary ammonium group at one end to direct the synthesis of MFI. They found that when the zeolite was used to transform methanol into gasoline, the catalytic longevity has greatly increased.
