Abstract

Alive Word is a program that makes known the indigenous and regional groups tradition of Colombia, to the university community as much as to the general public. Based on the project called "Palabra Viva" of the Bogotá Public Libraries Network (Biblored) and taking in consideration that support and promote the intercultural dialogue are fundamental parts of de university libraries functions as cultural agents, the Universidad Nacional de Colombia's National Library Direction impels this proposal inside the cultural agenda of the Libraries of the National System of Libraries of the University (SINAB). Alive Word contains two components: 1) each trimester at the University there are organized some activities with a specific indigenous or regional group, for example: oral narration sessions, lectures, conferences, expositions and artistic shows; 2) the Alive Word collection, that is a multimedia (audio, video, graphic or written files) registers wich are produced keeping memory of the activities that have been done in the University and saving files of the research projects that are related with these cultural groups, this collection is very useful for new studies and helps our community to recognize the cultural heritage and the national arts.
