Abstract

The article examines the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), a federal package that was passed in the U.S. to help curb the economic recession of 2008. The program was presented by former Treasury Department secretary Henry Paulson as a means through which taxpayers could turn a profit by making investments in name-brand companies. The author attests that profits are being realized from investments in blue-chip companies such as Fannie Mae, AIG and General Motors.
