Abstract

An encyclopedia entry for "complex partial seizures" is presented. This type of seizure is the most prevalent in an unselected adult population of patients with epilepsy. Some of the features of this type of seizure include staring, fumbling automatisms and blunting of awareness or recall. It highlights the distinction of complex partial seizures from simple partial seizures.
