Abstract
- The article presents a study on artificial cationic base surrogate with D-threoninol which stabilizes duplexes through both electrostatic and stacking interactions. It notes that D-threoninol has an amino residue wherein dyes can be conjugated through an amide bond. It is concluded that cationic base pairs were successfully incorporated into an oligodeoxyribonucleotide (ODN) in which these base pairs strongly stabilized duplexes by electrostatic interactions as well as stacking interactions.
