Abstract

The article presents a study that examined the distribution of amphibians and reptiles from North and West Africa with emphasis on Acanthodactylus lizards and the Sahara desert. The study recorded a total of 13 localities for three amphibian species and 213 localities for 52 reptile species which were recorded from September to December 2004. A Global Positioning System (GPS) was used to geoconference the spatial location of specimens. The species include Bufo xeros, Acanthodactylus aureus and Acanthodactylus boskianus.
