Abstract

The article presents a case study of a male, non-smoker patient who suffered from occupational asthma and rhinitis due to vancomycin powder inhalation in the workplace. It states that vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic and its inhalation can induce drug allergies, such as erythema multiforme and hypersensitivity syndrome. It mentions that a skin prick test and an intradermal test using vancomycin were performed on the patient to investigate the pathogenic mechanisms involved.
